Ron Smith, is one of the founding principals of Harbour Yachts Inc., he strongly believes that boat owners need personal service when buying or selling their boats.

Ron’s previous career was spent in the financial industry as a stockbroker. He held his own seat on the TSX and executive positions as a senior partner/director of several brokerage firms.

Over the past 30 years, Ron has owned and skippered a 49' Grand Banks, 50' Bertram, 42' Sabre and 42' Niagara. He has sailed extensively in the Great Lakes and power boated throughout the Bahamas and Florida. Ron has also chartered several boats in the BVI. He has always had a passion for boating and has now reached a point in life where, as a yacht broker, he will be able to couple both acquired business skills and boating experience to assist customers in their yacht transactions.

In January of 2008, Harbour Yachts Inc. was incorporated and Ron and John began building their yacht brokerage business with the goal of becoming a recognized competitor in the marine industry.  

John Haynes

After a very successful career in the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry, John along with Ron Smith founded Harbour Yachts Inc., and now applies his broad sales and marketing expertise in the yacht brokerage business. Now living in Mahone Bay, NS, which is one of the premier cruising areas recognized by sailors from around the world, John is responsible for both Harbour Yachts Inc's brokerage activities and the Lopolight marine lighting sales in Atlantic Canada.

John has an extensive and varied sailing resume, having sailed off the east and west coasts of North America, Greece, and the Caribbean. John has refined his sailing expertise by actively participating in dinghy and keelboat racing, and engaging in a number of long distance cruises. John
skippers his 43' Pan Oceanic cutter rig sailing vessel, and continues to hone his maritime skills.

His extensive sailing knowledge, coupled with his sales and marketing expertise, is a valuable asset in assisting Harbour Yacht's Inc. customers to meet their boating objectives.

John shares Ron's objective of growing Harbour Yachts Inc., into a prominent marine related business by understanding and exceeding the needs of our customers.
